1. Introduction
Welcome to GRIT ("we," "our," or "us"). GRIT is operated by Magpie Technology Limited, a company based in Hong Kong. GRIT is a life-RPG platform designed to help men build brotherhood, stay accountable, and improve their lives through missions, habits, and supportive communities.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, transfer and otherwise process and protect your information when you use the GRIT mobile application ("App") and our website (together the "Services"). By using the App and our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide to Us
When you use the Services, we may collect:
- Account Information: Name, email address, date of birth, gender, login method, profile photo, contact address, phone number, bank account information and other financial information such billing address, and account registration information (such as your username and password)
- Profile Data: Lifestyle interests, goals, age range, city/region
- User-Generated Content: Photos you upload, check-ins, and personal progress
- In-App Activity: Tasks completed, connection activity, membership details, progression milestones, chat logs and interactions, purchases
- Support Requests: Messages or attachments you send to customer support
- Communication details and marketing preferences: Details of your interactions with us and any marketing preferences you have indicated
- Location Data: Your geographical or device location, where this is enabled on your device
Where required by law, we will indicate whether you must provide any of this information (e.g. with an asterisk). If you do not provide mandatory personal data to us, we may not be able to provide you with the relevant service or correspond with you.
If you provide personal data of any third parties to us, you must give them a copy of this Privacy Policy and have their permission to share such data prior to doing so.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
We may also collect technical data such as:
- Device type, device ID, IMEI number and operating system
- Internet services provider, IP address
- App version
- Country/region (approximate, based on device settings)
- Basic app performance metrics and information about how you use the services, including interaction with our displayed adverts
- Error logs and crash diagnostics
We may collect some of this information through cookies and similar technologies, where required by applicable law we will seek your consent to such collection.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from:
Google Login (Google Identity Services)
If you sign in with Google, you may grant permission for us to receive:
- Your name
- Email address
- Profile picture
We do not receive any other Google data (contacts, files, location, calendars, etc.).
Sign in with Apple
Apple may provide:
- Your name (if you allow)
- Email address (or Apple Private Relay email)
We do not share any information back to Apple beyond authentication or where required by applicable law.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data including via data analytics and/or use of AI to:
- Provide the App and services: Create your account, manage your profile, enable interactions, track progress, access in-App features.
- Personalize Your Experience: Suggest challenges, content, or suggestions relevant to your goals.
- Process In-App Purchases: Through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat or other app stores.
- Enhance Safety: Assist in preventing fraud or misuse of the platform, for security and verification purposes, to ensure compliance with our terms and conditions and applicable policies.
- Improve the App: Analyze performance and improve or enhance features, to aggregate data for statistical purposes, helping us determine user interest in different areas of our Services, improve navigation and content.
- Communicate With You: Notifications, reminders, account alerts, operational updates, support responses and to respond to any queries, feedback or complaints, contacting you in relation to any marketing communication preferences, requesting feedback on your use of our services, sending you direct marketing communications, and tailoring our advertising to you
- Business reorganizations: Planning, evaluating, and executing business reorganizations such as mergers, acquisitions, investments, restructurings or asset transfers. This includes disclosing personal data for due diligence, transaction execution, post-transaction integration and other purposes, including to prospective or actual buyers, investors, counterparties and their professional advisers.
- Dispute resolution: To handle requests, complaints or claims, that we or our affiliates may face or raise before any jurisdictional, and/or administrative authority, arbitration commission and/or mediation panel, and in cooperating with or informing law enforcement or regulatory authorities to the extent required by law.
- Management of our business: To manage our business and our customer relationships.
- Comply with legal obligations: This may include making disclosures required by law, courts and regulatory authorities in any applicable jurisdiction. Such disclosures may also be made pursuant to a subpoena, court order or legal process.
- Establish, exercise or defend legal claims: We may also need to process personal data (including disclosure of information) to establish, exercise or defend legal claims on our behalf and on behalf of our affiliates.
4. How We Share Your Information
We may share your personal data with the following parties for the purposes outlined above:
4.1 With Other Users
- Your publicly visible profile (name, photo, goals)
- Content you choose to upload
- Messages you send inside group or private chats
4.2 With Service Providers and Partners
We use trusted vendors to help us operate the Services:
- Suppliers and contractors who support our business operations, such as fraud prevention and monitoring services, marketing providers, help desks etc.
- Service providers in connection with cloud services, information technology and information security support – such as:
- Firebase/ Google Cloud - login authentication, storage
- Google Analytics Reporting Tools – for performance and diagnostics
- Partners that we work with in the provision of the Services and its content
We will put in place reasonable measures to procure that the third parties comply with applicable data protection laws, implement and maintain adequate security measures and (where relevant) only process personal data on our behalf following our instructions.
4.3 Legal Compliance
We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, or legal process and to our professional advisors.
4.4 Business Transfers
If we are acquired or merged, your data may be transferred as part of the business.
4.5 Marketing
We may also use your personal data (such as your name, your email address and phone number) to send you marketing information about our services, news, offers, promotions and events which we think may be of interest to you via email or other electronic means. In each case, where required by applicable laws, we will only do so where we have your consent to receiving such marketing information from us.
If you do not want to receive any direct marketing communications, you may opt out and withdraw your consent at any time. You can also use the unsubscribe function on the direct marketing messages. Any such request should clearly state details of the personal data in respect of which the request is being made.

We retain your data only as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which the personal data was collected unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable laws.

6.1 Access & Update
You can update your information inside the App.
6.2 Delete Your Account
You may request account deletion through in-app settings or by contacting support.
6.3 Opt Out of Notifications
You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
6.5 Revoke Permissions
Depending on applicable law, you may have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you
- Correction of inaccurate or outdated information
- Deletion of your personal data
- Lodge a complaint with regulatory authority
- (Where applicable) withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data, including for direct marketing purposes

You may delete your account at any time through in-app settings or by contacting customer support. You may also choose to turn off photo access, camera access, or location permissions at any time (though some features may be limited).
7. Security
We use reasonable technical, physical and organizational security measures to protect your information:
- Encrypted data transfer (SSL/TLS)
- Secure photo storage with access controls
- Authentication protections (Google & Apple Login)
- Regular internal reviews of security practices
However, no system is completely secure.
8. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in locations outside your country. We ensure appropriate protections and legally acceptable mechanisms are in place for international transfers.
10. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to external websites or communities. Please be aware they may have their own privacy policy, and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or for any personal data which may be collected through these websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. When changes occur:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date
- We may use reasonable means to notify you, such as inside the App
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, your continued use of the Services means you accept the updated policy.
